About Us

Ta pies is a New Zealand/Australian influenced specialty bakery and superette.

Opened in march 2010 by New Zealand born 5 star hotel experienced chef Don Hudson and his Quebecois born Australian citizen wife Melanie Des Lauriers who also has an extensive and impressive hospitality resume.

After moving to Montreal in 2008, a desire to escape the hotel scene and a craving for the tastes of home led Don to the idea of going back to his roots and bringing some of his favourite New Zealand and Australian comfort food classics like meat pies, sausage rolls and Lamingtons to Montreal.

“Ta” (slang down under for thanks a lot) is dedicated to producing high quality comfort food with a modern twist on traditional recipes at a reasonable price. Our pies are high quality gourmet versions of southern hemisphere classics as well as some creations of our own.

Our pies can be purchased in store Frozen, cold or hot for take out or hot home delivery through Skip the dishes.

Our pies come in individual & family sizes and in a few flavours mini party size.

Our desserts are all handmade classics with our own personal touch. Our famous flat white coffees, tim tam slams and other specialty drinks will complete your Ta experience, dont forget your vegemite!
